Party Ready: A Better Game Night
A game night works best when the setup is settled before everyone arrives. Pick a starting activity, a rough session length and a fallback that suits the group.
Do the boring bits early
Check installs, updates, controllers and voice settings. Share the correct lobby or invite route privately. For tabletop sessions, lay out components and learn the first round before explaining every exception.
Make the first round easy to join
Give people one clear objective and a chance to try the controls. Explain important accessibility options and let the group choose a comfortable pace. Build in a break and make leaving early easy.
Keep a backup plan
If a server is down or a download takes too long, switch to something ready. The people are the point; the original plan can wait.
